I seem to have a devil of a time finding someplace I can take a truck to send mail home. There are times I want to send a package or a heavier envelope than normal and just can't find anywhere to do this. Very few truck stops have drop boxes, even fewer sell stamps and only on rare occasions I have seen one set up with a scale and capability to send larger stuff, even by FedEx or UPS.

If you have seen a truck accessible US Post Office or a place a truck can get to that can mail stuff, please post it here. It's geting to the time of year we will be wanting to send holiday gifts and cards. Thanks, y'all, for your help.

There's one in Westover NV. Been awhile since I was out that way...

What I usually do is find a drop yard, drop the trailer and bobtail to a post office.

I guess the magic question is, What state do you tend to travel the most ? That might make it easier for you to decide.

One of the post offices here in Waco is accessible by Semi. Of course you can't pull up to the door or parking lot but, it is accessible with on and off ramps going north or south bound on I35. Which is exactly why I use it. It faces Clay street between 4th & 5th street. 4th is one way going west and 5th is one way going east. You can park on Clay street, right in front of the post office.

Not sure if this link will show it or copy this address into google maps and you will see> 424 Clay Ave, Waco, TX 76706-1044

BTW, if you come thru Waco, I will be glad to have coffee or dinner with you Injun

Oklahoma City... its on the west side of I35 just south of the I40 interchange. Looked to me like you could get off on the first exit southbound, and park on the access road.

Here's my solution for most things on the road... hit the internet!

    http://usps.whitepages.com/post_office

That link will find you a post office... then use your favorite map site to checkout the access into and out of it, with a good long look at the satellite view. Doesn't always work, but it is one solution.

The old "Giant " truck stop in Jamestown, New Mexico (now a Pilot) off of I-40, exit 39, IIRC, has a post office in the main building.

Every truck stop on planet earth has outgoing mail. Just ask them to place your items in their outgoing mail. If weight is an issue, ask the place you purchased your item from if they can help you ship, and if they have a shipping dept. You'd be surprised how many mom and pop shops sell on line these days, and they are experts on shipping. God bless good old eBay lol.

I have a thermal printer at home to pre print my labels. I also carry a small selection of priority mail envelopes and priority boxes. They all fold flat and are free to order and receive. Order them on line from USPS. You can also buy a pre paid Priority Mail stamp at any post office.

If your items will fit in the Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, you wont have to guess as to the postage price/weight as its a one rate weight/distance deal. Priority envelopes are good up to 1lbs.

    Priority Mail Products https://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/st...ent_category_rn=10000002&top=&sort=&viewAll=Y

Be careful you order Priority (2-3) day, and NOT Express (1 day). Express starts at $15.

For smaller envelopes you can get a cheap scale like this

Wal Mart really should add post offices inside their stores. Many grocery stores do, so you'd think it would be a no-brainer for wally world.

FedEx and UPS facilities have semi parking generally, along with a shipping counter...

Everyone has their own little thing. But I will tell you Mr. Kansas, I personally will not be handing my mortgage payment, van payment, truck payment, or anything financially involved over a counter at a truckstop to a $8.00 a hour cashier to do as she pleases.

If they don't have a blue mail box, I don't send my stuff. If I can't find a post office, I don't send my stuff!

    Now back on subject....

The USPS office in Canton, TX has a big gravel lot across the street & you can park on the shoulder of the road. I-20 exit 527. Go south. Turn right on Dallas Street. The Post office will be on the left.

    Manzanola, CO

US-50 just outside of Pueblo. Do not park on US-50. You can actually park on the city streets, just not the main hwy which happens to be US-50. The post office is at the junction of South Park St. & US-50

I keep a supply of stamps in my truck as well as flat rate postage boxes for usps priority mail. Just drop in any mail box at trucks stop and your set. Another option would be that most small towns Post office is located right on the main hwy going through the town. Find a place to pull of the road and walk right to it.
