Not true! An accident/incident while chained up is like any other accident/incident...as long as you (the driver) are maintaining the proper/safe speed for the conditions, and doing everything you can to be safe...the accident/incident will be investigated in the same manner as something that could happen in the middle of July. There will just be a bit more to the investigation dealing with the circumstances and conditions when and where it occurred.Speaking of this, I was talking to another driver about this being my first winter etc, he said if a driver chains up, then has an accident the company considers that 'preventable'. True?Click to expand...
They won't stay that way even if you don't use them...in fact they will rust up quicker with getting no use!P.S. those chains are too pretty to take off the rack lolClick to expand...
OUCH!He-string....Click to expand...
Sight unseen...we will leave that to scottied67...but remember my budget...I don't know her rates! But she hasn't done the chain thing...Hey Scottied, get out to Stockton on Nov. 13...we could make you a star...it will be your effort that will keep you off the comedy channel!Flying Finn said: ↑Maybe you could do a little 'wax' job video too while your at it doing the scantily clad chain thing otherhalf.

MVT WON'T give you chains. We run the super singles. You gotta request them in the El Paso terminal and somebody off in computer land looks at where your going and deems not necessary. Even if your heading off to the mountain states & NW. I've told my DM I'm not going back into Colorado as they are tightening up on REQUIRING chains be on your truck Sept-May. So far I haven't been told to turn the truck in & we haven't crossed swords as I haven't been dispatched to Colorado.
Side note I am looking/applying with another company now. I'm reading and researching this site daily for possible leads. -
Injun said: ↑I don't have pics of the process, but I do have of the finished product. My chain rack is on the right side of the truck. My two pairs of singles are hung on the front three hooks, two singles on the inside, one each on the other two, as described above.
My rear three hooks have my "rails" or double chains on them. Haulhand already explained a very effective method of hanging rails, which is not the way I have them hung, so I will not confuse the issue with an explanation of how mine are done, although they are hung by the center lengthwise chain. His method actually sounds more efficient than mine and I would be very interested to see it and give it a try.
It is difficult to get a decent angle of my front hooks because they are a bit close to a hot exhaust pipe and I can't fit behind the side fairing, but here you are.Click to expand...
I wish my truck had a chain rack like that, I have three hooks on the frame thats it, and I have two 3 Railers and three singles I need to get one more single all hanging off three hooks its a mess but they are all in order lol
