Who in their right flippin mind would drive for 22 cpm ?
-
well as a new trucker would u expect to start out at 1.50 a mile? no. we r company drivers. if i was a owner then no i wouldn't.
tell me one company that pays there drivers more then that right out of the box without any experience. after 6 months u move up to .32 a mile so that's good for me.
cant start out at the top. gotta work your way up there. i dont mind starting out at the bottom., gives me something to strive for. ill look for all u super truckers sitting at the truck stops ######## about csa2010 and not making any money. ill keep making my .32 a mile and coasting state to state.
its all in how u look at stuff.
to the other poster: i will still be here in 6 months. i like what i do. i dont expect to get 10000 miles a week at 1.50 a mile. its unrealistic to even think that. im happy with .32 a mile and 5000 miles a week. so ill send u a message in 6 months when im still here happy as a clam in water. -
Central Refrigeration.

that sounds like a reefer unit. no thanks.

I started with Schneider in 2002 with 28 cpm. I know of no one paying such a pathetic wage as low as 22 cpm.
They bump you up after 6 months to 32 cpm. That's great expect no one makes it to the 6 month mark...obviously. That's the bait to get people in the door.
Dude, don't fall for the lies and pure BS these guys tell you. It's just kind of common knowledge out here that CRST is positively, absolutely, without a doubt, the worst of the worst. You'll see someday what I mean. Life would be better for all of us out here if these junk carriers would just shrivel up, die, and go to hell. -
so if crst is the worst of the worst whos the best? who moves the most freight? we just picked up walmart from swift as swift lost the account. we also have conway.
id rather get paid less per mile and get more miles then more pay and less miles. i like running. i hate sitting. -
You said name one company.. Now you want to be specific. Don't have an opinion one way or another about CRST. My son is in a trainers truck now with them. So far he's happy. Me I prefer to be solo.
FYI Central does haul dry vans and flatbeds. Try not to be so defensive. -
Actually CRST is not the worst, nor do they move the most freight. CRST might have been added to Walmart, but Swift and Schneider still dominate Walmart's freight.
-
I hope you make it to the six month mark. Based on 2500 miles per week 1 cpm adds up to $25 dollars a week...$100 extra a month. So at 32cpm, or 10cpm more than they pay you now, that would be an extra $250 dollars a week. That's good money but then you will see what they really think of you.
Your sitting in Iowa with a new driver and a load to California comes up. You will cost them an extra $100 dollars to get it there. They won't even wash their trucks and probably give you a run around about reimbursements. In other words you are not going to be used in a way that benefits you. This is why CRST has one of the most aggressive recruiting programs in the business.
Do your time and move on is all I am saying. Life might be good now, or as good as it can get with 22cpm, but the good times won't last forever.
