i do not need to understand physics , or photosynthesis, how a crab apple tree grows.......or any other "rocket scientist explanations".....
it's "in the book" regarding stopping distances THEY NEEDED TO KNOW, to pass the CDL TEST........
the test center DOES NOT ask for a scientific breakdown......and never will...
please get off your box trying to be scientific, it ain't going anywhere's.....
questions while learning cdl permit information

However, the initial question had to do with empty vs. loaded. empty = loss of traction.
Please do not assume you know how I will or will not treat equipment entrusted to me..
I am just going to go back to my corner now.. -
In fact I remember the question. They specially asked with would stop sooner. It was on the doubles test I took today as well.
-
i sent the o/p a PM, i told him what he needed to know here and in the PM, scientific talk is NOT needed.
-
That's exactly what I said in my 1st post.... that empty CAN take longer to stop. See... we really do agree.
And that's EXACTLY what I said in my 1st post.... You apparently didn't read it and just like to tell people they are wrong to boast that you are right or something...
I can explain it no more and I'm not in the mood to argue.
To the OP... best of luck to you... real experience will teach you more than that book or any of this 2nd hand information. -
The downward force exherted by gravity decreases the linear stopping distance. The previous equations were based upon the vehicle in motion only travelling in a straight line, however, we all know they also have the downward force exherted by gravities pull. Think like a black hole effect. The larger the amount of weight is in motion, the more force will be nessecary to stop it. But the weight itself provides some of that force. The less the weight the less the downward pull, therefore, the longer the stopping distance.

the information COMES from the book, NOT second hand.
you are now on my "ignore list" as i see you as nothing more than a troll. -
Thank gawd... now I don't have to worry about you wanting to argue everything I say.
Wow... I'm a troll.... neato..
Then don't assume I can't control my equipment... -
Oh wow,
I honestly didn't mean to rile up a hornets nest of trouble.....sorry about that.
I think my best plan of action is that even if I think the book is wrong and since the test is based off the book I had best just go along with what the book says during all testing
BTW, thanks for the heads up on the instant fail if I don't take the key during pti. Things like that should be covered more in the book. -
Don't worry bout the hornet's nest... it happens... all the time.
Def def def follow the book. The book is what they are testing you on. The book doesn't teach you how to drive... just how to get your license. They want you to memorize it... then in reality you'll end up throwing half of what it says out of your memory banks.
