    I wondered if anyone can tell me who trains and offers schooling that is legit. My husband wants to get into the trucking field and has contacted USA trucking, but we know very little about the best places to go. I'd appreciate any feedback or places for him to check into. We live in Iowa.

    Lots of dynamics in that decision process. Depends mostly on your situation. I cannot PM yet, but if you drop me an email gcb0823 at g mail dot com, I can suggest some things based on your needs. Easier than back and forth on the thread. Good luck to you both!

    Central Refrigerated might be a good place for him to start

    American;

    I am located in N. CAlifornia, (Near San Jose) graduating in 3 weeks, just passed my written CDL test today (Only missed 3 questions!)...I like your style do you have any suggestions for a rookie driver (I am a "mature" individual starting a new career). I understand I will probably have to do OTR for a year or two to establish myself. Just looking for a "decent" and "safe" firm to join. If I like OTR I have no problems just doing that. Does Central Refrigerated hire out of the N. Cali area?

    Any suggestions or idea's are welcome.

    I think they do, but last i knew when I talked to them in august they were only hireing new drivers out of there school..so if your already in school I would look into Watkins Shepard, May Trucking, and Gordon.
