Watching someone else get whipped, is different than actually getting whipped oneself...
When watching someone else get whipped...we can stand to the side and say..
Gee wiz, why are they over reacting...making a show?, all they want is attention'
But when that same person feels the 'ting' of that cold hard whip...
They go hire the best lawyer they can find...

There were POS people back in the 40's, 50's and beyond. Am I right?
There was no way other than word of mouth and Time magazine to get the news out.
I dunno, I just see a lot of references regarding the state of society today and am by no means disputing the amount trash we live with but it just seems like there would always have been less than spectacular people amongst us since the beginning of time. -
If being a greeter at WM is what a 100 year old person wants to do, I say go for it.
BTW, I hate Wally-mart, but not the greeters. Lots of them are WW II and Korean war veterans. -
I know all the WalMart greeters here by name... mainly because Dad used to drive the Dial a Ride they rose to work..
Let me just say this, if I saw ANYONE assault one of them, the person who assaulted them would know the true meaning of assault when I got done.
Think of it this way, those folks are someone's Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, aunt, uncle, etc... what if it were yours?
Have some respect. -
Sadly what most seem to have missed is that many of the people who are retired do not work because they are 'bored' or 'want' to. It is because they 'have' to. they cannot afford to live without working due to poor investments, health care bills, and such. Gone are the days when you could look forward to 65 and retiring with a decent pension and a house and car paid for.
Someone who is retired should not have to work at all. It is the duty of their family to help take care of them now. Everyone seems to forget this point. -
It's true that some have to.. and then you have those like my father. He doesn't have to work.. but he still drives a propane truck in OK, working 60-70 hours a week, and nothing I say will ever stop him.

Try reading what I had written, then read it again, and repeat until you actually comprehend what I was discussing. I did not mention the original article at all only discussing how the younger ignoramuses treat retired folk. -
The greeters dont need to be assualted thats for sure, but checking your receipt at wal-mart is no different that shopping at costco, they always check for your receipt and look quickly at your cart at costco, if you dont like that sort of thing then do not shop there, the things i do not like about the walmart here is the 100 year old ladies that are checkers that take 2 hours to scan 20 items moving slower than a snail, plus the way they have the main isles all cluttered with pallets of stuff where it makes it a pain for people with shopping carts to get from one end of the store to the other, walmart is not a warehouse store or at least not supposed to be so take all the pallets of crap out of the way in the main isles.
HFC Thanks this.
