Sense I already look dumb on here today. Some quick questions on these volvo's. I don't know anything about them,
I got the 2010 volvo w/cummins engine. Need to know some maintence specifics for it. First what is all this exhaust treatment crap I see stacked up in truckstops/ is that something I should know about/ 2 I can't find where to drain the airtanks/ I know, sad, but true. And really anything else beside the basics that can help me out would be greatly appreciatted.

They just tossed you the keys and said "so long"?
Isn't there a shop or something at your terminal where you can ask about this stuff? -
Yeah, pretty much, They gave me keys and said get moved in, I pulled it around, got my stuff in it, and beep, qualcom, load assignment, off I went, of course I broke down an hour later, but thats besides the point.
I'm really looking for a few answers, and our shop is not very nice. -
air tanks, crawl under, find them, and look for the drains.

exhaust treatment..... some of the new engines require it to burn off the exhaust crap.
you should figure out if your truck needs it.
there should be a little tank on the side somewhere, and I assume it will be marked.
Maybe you should read the manual at your next down time? -
They did the same thing to me, 'here's the keys to 4 trucks, go pick one'. I had no idea about the Volvo as I had trained on a Kenworth. You would think someone would come out and go over it with the brand new driver, engine regens, where the air drains are located, 'this one doesn't have hood latches, look, here is were you open the hood...' . Had to figure out how to operate the bunk heater on my own too.
Driver's side steps, two handles, release those handles (make sure door is closed) pull fairing toward you. You will see the batteries and the air tanks beneath. There will be the air drain cord in plain view. -
lmao, no manual, I'm getting a bit discouraged here. Starting to feel like this industry is not for me, so many questions and so few people willing to help, they all just have smart comments and bad additudes.

Don't let your frustration get you too discouraged. Some of the newer trucks use DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) and some "regenerate" to burn off soot collected in the system. I really wish I could help you as I understand your frustration, but I'm not familiar with the new systems. Hopefully another Swift driver will see this post and help you out by sending you their phone number via PM or such.
