For you recent Roehl RDTC cdl school graduates, what are you honest opinions regarding the thoroughness and quality of Roehl's program?
What was the programs cost along with lodging fees?

I thought the program was great. I was impressed with their committment to safety. They train you to pass the cdl and to the Roehl way. Normally there are 3 students to 1 trainer. My class was the last one under the "old system" and the new system will have more driving time. That wasn't an issue with me. I ended up with 1 to 1 training due to other students leaving the program. I was getting 7 to 8 hours driving time for a few days. Class was Monday thru Saturday usually 7 to 5:30 with a 45 min lunch break. Homework every night. I met several instructors and drove with 3 different ones. All were excellent and helpful. They throw a lot of info at you in 3 weeks.

They will finance and they reimburse tuition fees if you stay with them.

    Fees:
    $2800 tuiton
    $400 lodging
    $100 admin or something fee
    $85 testing fee
$74 more or less WI license fee (I paid 74, another student paid 85. He had a motorcycle endorsment.)
$? cost to transfer license to home state (NC is $75)
I live 1300 miles away. I had $4,200 when I started and less than $100 when I finished. I only ate out 4 times. I drive a gas guzzling full size suv.

Hope this helps. I would recommend RDTC to any one.

Thanks for the feedback, that's encouraging. I will probably regret my decision to spend 3 weeks in central Wisconsin in February, but oh well... lol. I'm so ready to get out of my current job. 28 days to go and I'll be on the road to Marshfield!

I did it in Decemember. And it was colder than usual. I drove in snow from Virginia to Marshfield. I considered it a warm day when the high temps hit double digits. The 1st weekend was 1 1/2 ft of snow. It snowed the night before I took my cdl test. Just to rub it in, the temps returned to normal my last day there. It got up 27. The good part about the cold was that I could keep my frozen food in my SUV; much more room than the little freezer in the dorm size fridge.

    Good luck

From a trainer prospective RDTC is the best school out there. My life is a lot less stressful when my student comes from there. The only other school that come close is NETTS in CT or somewhere out there and it is much longer and more expensive. Most of these CDL mills cost a lot more and teach a lot less. There are a few decent tech schools as well. RDTC is good because you will get a lot of time behind the wheel, not a lot of other students, and you will be driving the same kind of truck that you will get with your trainer.

they also will pay for the tuition part of it, you just have to work for them for a year or so and its paid.
i really liked the training there, and the trainers. i was so ready to quit the first week, figured there is no way i would be able to do it. i just couldnt shift, double clutching just didnt work for me. then in the second week it just kind of clicked i guess. my trainers kept telling me i was doing fine, dont stress. lucky i listened to them.

Way to hang in there. One of my challenges will be remembering to use the clutch! I've been driving a little 8 speed 24' flatbed for 2.5 years and I never use it.

If you plan on driving for Roehl thier school is really good. The only problem is very few companies reconize it as a CDL certified school.
