    Hey Everyone!

Well the past week has been....Ummm...interesting to be sure. Now I could go into detail about the "Trailer Tragity" Highway Preacher and I faced trying to pull paper out of WA but....he covered it rather nicely here... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-drivers-whats-your-20-a-115.html#post1731522

We really did do everything possible to pull off getting these loads out and delivered on time. Had it not been for Preacher's truck breaking down, We'd have BOTH made it on time.

So after delivering mine, I spent a few hours in La Mirada and got a load of beer to Modesto where I've been sitting on my arse waiting to get out of here. Finally have a load of tires right back to SFS but might as well hang for a reset and deliver in the morning at 06:00. Already QC'd SFS asking for a load out for the weekend. She said she'd see what she can do. We'll see.

I just spoke with Roxy in recruiting and there are no new local runs for senior drivers. Local and regional positions are given to those that qualify, regardless of seniority. The terminal managers hire for local positions as they become available.

I got news for you guys, I know those of us who are apart of it haven't said much but freight is slowed, in fact so slow they ended up having to lay a few local drivers off in SFS, Me included about a week ago. The last series of storms plus the slow season really messed everything up.

They offered for me to start over in a sleeper again, but I declined and now have a few interviews for other companies lined up for local work.

Sorry to hear that D1 and all the best to you.

The other side of the coin is we have about 20 OTR trucks here in SFS right now. They've been running me like a local driver for almost two weeks now. I really want out of CA and get back to REAL OTR. These 2 and 3 hundred mile trips is NOT what I signed on for.

D1 wasnt the only one...I have left the company as well after my SFS/PHX run dried up and they wanted me to go back OTR. I have apps in a few places as well, but out of the transportation business. Trying to go back to my former occupation, dispatcher. I am really good at it and like the job. I can make more money, better benefits, Mon-Fri and be home every night, so I'll be happy.

    Wedge and chralb Thank this.

Sorry to hear that, Warp. Did Cage survive the layoff, go back OTR, or is he looking around?
