Yes I have a truck gps and my road atlas. Neither is perfect. Yes my truck gps tells me where the rest areas and truck stops are.. low clearances and weight restricted roads, hazmat lanes and even where the weight stations are
This debate will go on as long as the Windows/Unix debate.. -

See that little pic up by my name?
You prefer to use GPS I prefer not to. What's the big deal? I have a very good sense of direction, so don't really feel the need for a GPS. My oldest son on the other hand . . . well, lets just say that he is directionally challenged.I am medicineman Thanks this. -
dudes/dudettes... yes... what if you loose signal? i don't like it talking to me! what if? what if? yes their not perfect... none of it is. can an atlas tell you there is an accident ahead? can an atlas tell you if the road is snow covered? of coarse not. that's not the point. the point is... IF you want to use a GPS then this is a good way of approaching it. it's not the end all of navigation... it's just another tool. use it or don't use it. and again. did any of you notice i called it a "Planner" not a "GPS" the GPS function is to recall the rout you have "planned" ahead of time. you still have to use common sense good judgment. and yesssss you still have to refer to your atlas
