I applied at the columbus, Ohio terminal a few years ago and bypassed the job offer. You would start off filling in for senior guys and would normally work 4 to 5 days a week and LOTS of weekends. They deliver to chain resturants only (ex. applebees) and you may be out all week and run team. Your schedule was a bit different every week. First year earnings were in the neighboorhood of 55k and topping out around 75k.

Very good job after years of climbling the ladder, lots of work and IMO not worth deteriorating over an extra 100 bucks a week or so.

It is now going onto day 3 of 3 business days and I'd hope he's made those phone calls as he still has not gotten any information except maybe the union answer and an almost arse chewing about the drugs!
So "biting his head off" maybe did help him!
Asking on a forum can take an awful long time waiting on an answer and even the chance that it's good information. Yes I support TTR but sometimes it's best to go to the horses mouth for a good answer.

I work at Sygma Harrisburg and it is NOT union. Some locations are but this one is not. As for bad days and hours. Uh ok. The past month I've gone out twice a week, did layovers and was home all day Thursday, Friday and went out again late Saturday night. And I've got less than 6 months with Sygma. And with bids coming up this week, even being low on seniority, there is a good chance I will get a run and avoid the extra board. It's all about timing. And the money, well let's just say, very good. The work isn't near as bad as most on this site make it out to be. But if you are looking to sit behind the wheel and bump docks then it's not for you. An example of my last month on the same route. Leave Saturday night at 9pm, get to first store about 10:30-11pm. Deliver five stores, then at the hotel by 8am Sunday morning for a layover lasting till 9pm Sunday night. Then off to deliver 5-7 stores depending on the run. Done by 6am or so and then home to Harrisburg. Unless a backhaul was done, then back to Sygma by 10am. Then home. Been doing that twice a week. I don't mind it at all. Hope this info is helpful to those interested in Sygma. I'm sure there will be times I'll want to pull my hair out but that will be with every company. :biggrin_2552:

I've worked as a nurse and an EMS instructor, and experience has taught me that, if a question about pre-employment drug testing methods comes up, then there is a potential problem with the one asking it.

A bit of advice: If this applies to you, don't waste your time or theirs, just don't apply. Besides, if the pre-employment drug test comes up dirty, it goes on your USIS/DAC report, gets stored in a national database, and can result in losing your CDL in some states.

By the way guitarman, it is a pee test for Harrisburg. First year driver earnings $52k-70k. Not a bad first year.
