I think i'd be sending messages to this guy's DM asking WTF? I know as ECT you can't just raise 'em on the phone like the weekday folks can.
I may have met you a few months ago when I hauled an alcohol load to south of Birmingham from the yard there. I was dispatched at 2300 and it needed to be there by 0700. Interesting thing about that JIT load: it had sat on the yard for four days prior to becoming a sudden emergency. I see that on a fairly regular basis. Wha'zup with that?
BTW: I made that one happen with the aid of Juan Valdez...regardless of the fact I had not slept and got the ppl about 5 minutes after I laid my head down.Last edited: Mar 11, 2011
biker dave and The Challenger Thank this. -
I've always been told Swift is not forced dispatch. If they ever do become forced dispatch, they will lose a driver. That's one of my deal breakers.
I don't see how they could call themselves forced dispatch now. We have to accept the preplan to be dispatched on it. Any driver could simply ignore the preplan, and then it can't be dispatched. -

They were straight up refused or just expired? I drove all night last night and while asleep today they sent 5 preplans which I saw on my phone (I keep phone on mute while sleeping) when I woke up. Fired up the truck and each one was expired off of the qualcomm-- I guess I didn't answer in time.
Rotten Thanks this. -
The Challenger and 1nonly Thank this.

is the driver for real turn down all those loads...
i loved JIT loads when i was with Swift... they give the driver a little bargining power to get a back up load and make a good contact when out their and you need that one more load for the week or what ever...
12 loads in 5 hours ohhh wow i would have been hopin but i think i only turned down 2 loads the whole time i was their and that gets noticed to
i was a L/O there and when on a mileage contract if your not rollin you ain't makin money just that simplescottied67 and The Challenger Thank this. -
Just curious here, but how much more do they pay for JIT freight, to the driver or L/O?
scottied67 and The Challenger Thank this. -
that depends how bad they need it moved... on the norm it wasn't anything extra but i got as much as and extra $150 and as low as $20 a few times but that is not normal but they will do it if they need it moved
