Nah...why waste the red lead in my pencil on trivial pursuits?
I might need that red pencil for something important...like somebody wanting to switch from Swift over to England...cause the miles are better or something!![]()
Swift drivers, sound off

I've got a complaint that I've griped about until I'm blue (I even sent in one of those "quality assurance" postcards) and I get agreement from everyone, but nothing has been fixed. I know it hasn't been fixed cause I just had it happen again a couple days ago.
When planning the second (or third or fourth etc) driver on a T-call load, please please please put an accurate p/u time in the preplan. They should be using the first drivers ETA as the p/u time, yet they just throw some number out there that's worthless.
I received a preplan on the 7th to pickup a trailer at Martinsburg and deliver that night. The preplan had the p/u listed as the 6th (don't remember the time window). So I show up at Martinsburg only to find out it's not there yet, it's about 160 miles away. So why would someone enter the 6th as the pickup date if the load isn't even there yet on the afternoon of the 7th?
There has (have?) been too many times I've had to back out of a preplan I previously accepted when I found out the load wasn't there yet. It is the drivers responsibilty to determine if we have hours to run a load legally, then accept or decline a preplan accordingly. But I cannot do that if I am not given accurate information within the preplan.
This is common sense, and I've never had anyone disagree with that. So why is this still happening? Why? Why? Why?scottied67, Time, JustSonny and 1 other person Thank this. -
The Pre Plan info is from the origanal Pre Plan you actually think the planners are going to take the time to change that? That would mean work and getting off the internet. What abpout going to picking up a load the shipper knows nothing about so you sit 8-10 hrs doing your reply macro and then cancelling th load? You get nothing for it and hav to fight to get it. A driver do something like that and you are threatened with a service failure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All they get is an AW SH## for it.
JustSonny and scottied67 Thank this. -
I agree with Injun sorry but if I got a problem with the trailer and it is moveable I go to the nearest Major Truck Stop and call on road and its always been a done deal no problems no hassle Onroad (AKA ECT) take care of it and move on to the next driver I have had from holes in the roof to an air leak and its been fixed
Texas-Nana and scottied67 Thank this. -
Last week I really scored with the detention pay-- 4 loads and shippers paid. I never expected a penny of detention from any of these loads, so used to getting burned like that as a company driver I was.... One of the shippers, I got there several hours early (been there before and therefore knew they would be several hours getting my load together) and quickly sent my arrival at shipper macro and checked in then jammed down the street to the truck stop and proceeded to do a 10 hour break. They called me about 7 hours later saying the load was ready but I told them I was not ready. 'Cool, come get it anytime'... Yep paid me $75 free bucks on that one.
Walmart same thing, got there early, arrived at final destination macro-- would not take me, sat out there for hours and then checked in, they took about 4 hours to unload me- booyah. Had a load planned out of the same DC, took the empty right out the gate and U-turned back in the entry then the Chep pallets building could not find my load paperwork ooops on them cuz I went and took a power nap and got PAID lol. Then the other place was in Lost Angeles where they took 2 hours and 15 minutes to load me -- oh well $15 bucks is better than a kick in the pants....Rotten Thanks this.
