We are thinking about getting a used O/O truck that has been turned in and wonder which terminal has the best offerings?

There's a Volvo 780 sitting at Menasha ... Talk to the lease recruiter. They can give you the run down of what's available where.

If you want truck in a particular location they will get you dispatched on loads to work you there.

I picked up a used Prostar our of SLC ... If I was doing it again I would give some serious thought to the Columbia purchase program. Wasn't aware of it at the time.

Phoenix has its share of turn-in trucks.

But I'm going to be the one to ask: Do you really feel like you're ready for this? I'm not trying to be negative. I want to encourage you to be successful. But. It's only been in the last couple of weeks that things have turned around and both you and hubby are still learning the ropes of Swift and of the Transportation Industry in general. I will encourage you to talk to lease operators, look at honest numbers and think long and hard before taking this step.

If you decide you are ready, I will do everything I can to help you be successful. It's not easy.

My understanding ... Used Freightliner Columbia, around 5 years old. $480 a week, you own it outright in 18 months. That's about all I know, the recruiter should be able to give you all the details.

Also go read Injuns blog about leasing. She has some good stuff about operating costs.

Is your fleet manager the helpful type? The reason I ask is that if weever decided to go o/o we'd go straight to our fleet manager and he'd find the truck for us. Okay so I guess we're all babied on our fleet. LOL
