Yesterday was the last day of orientation with my new employer.
The 6 new hires. and got to personaly meet the entire staff of the company including the owner.
The entire staff amounts to no more tha 45 people distpachers, sale, brokerage, safety.
No locked doors, other than the 4 bedrooms for drivers to freely use, when truck is down for a day or more.
No glass partition between you and the dispatchers. Walk on in, have a chat. :)

Owner has multipla family members in the office, as does the Saftey Corodenator (sp)

    :)

Sounds like your happy to have made the change skibum. I'm happier at my new job as well, i was the only person in orientation and it only took 2 days to get through it, i met everybody from the top on down my first day and they only have around 20 people total in the office(this includes all shifts) and all dispatching is done by e-mail or cell phone so no qualcoms, and the money is great, get paid very well for local and the milage pay is much better. They don't even bother with drivers who have had to many jobs in to short of a time frame so they really try to find drivers with a history of staying were they are for the long run, the average driver has more then a decade here and many are over 20 years so i feel fortunate to have gotten in the door. They have about 120 trucks half and half with company and o/o so that works out good as well, i feel my patience has paid off.

Hell these guys deadheaded me from Tampa, FL to Marshalltown, IA some years ago...about 1300 miles to pick up a 2 stopper in louisiana. Nothing like a roadtrip.
