yea i checked with the local community college but they are in affiliation with the truck driving school here so it's the same place just different name and they do the whole pre-hire thing with swift, Werner, USA trucking, and us express but it's not always a guaranty that you'll have work when you graduate, so i decided to just go to the swift academy and work for them.

I'm talking about calling your Division of Employment Security or whatever it's called in your state. Basically, it's the unemployment office. You don't have to be drawing unemployment to get help finding jobs or improving your skills. They are in the business of helping people become employed as much as paying out benefits.

Oh yea the recruiter for international schools told me that usually the department of workforce solutions usually give out grants based on income but with the states budget it's not possible right now the state has no money to help out

The lack of funds is a real problem in the present economy. My state office told me I might get funds for a refresher course if I did it before the end of June.
My suggestion to anyone starting training is call the office in your state that handles this. Don't take second hand information. This could make the difference between being a slave and being a free agent! -
Check out this thread, post 1 and 3. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...uestions-from-new-drivers/147240-finally.html.

There is a Roadmasters school in Tulsa about 30 min away from where i live and the community college here offers a course call a CDL Test Skills Prep, and they swear it is legit but it only cost $95 so i said thank you and walked away. I have been a full time college student for 2 years now so if there was a college that offered CDL training I would gladly attend because college I would have no problem paying for with Grants and scholarships since i get really good grades. I don't really have the funds to attend a Driving school since most require a substantial down payment.
Thats why I am looking for a company that trains and lets me work off the debt. I am going to call the companies I applied to on Monday and see what they say. Thanks for all the advise and keep it coming. -
BigJohn54 Thanks this.

that's true it can't be all bad it's all on how and what we make of whatever situation we just have to get our foot in the door someway or another somewhere, even though we'd be stuck with them for whatever duration of time to pay back the schooling or training atleast we'll have that one year experience under our belts and can move on to bigger and better companies.
BigJohn54 Thanks this.
