    Okay last question before my adventure starts. I start school on Monday with AIT in Phoenix, lol I am excited but nervous too. I have a prehire with Swift ( I know that doesn't mean a thing) but I am really leaning toward them. I was told to call the recruiter the end of the first week in school school is 4 weeks long, so they could start my background checks and stuff. My question is: Is this normal? I know they check backgrounds before hire and I know it will be fine because I have nothing to hide. I was just curious. Wish me luck and if ya want to follow my story it is under the trucking schools AIT forum.

    Sounds like they're just getting a jump ahead for orientation. I had to take another drug screen but can't remember if I had to fill out another background consent form since I went through the school.

    We had a few AIT students in my Orientation class. I hate to say it, but neither of them were hired. Why ? I have no I dea or care, but I did notice that outside training schools told me everything I wanted to hear, as well as Swift. Keep in mind, all these people you are talking to are sales people, commision based.
    To me it was simple, go thru the Swift academy, then get hired. and honestly the $75 per week isnt going to kill me, I mean I have heard stories of people paying well over $9k for AIT.. again hearsay..

    Thanks AZ. Have you finished your otr training? IF so how is it going? I started at AIT and So far I like it a lot. One week down, good classroom instructor. Meeting my Swift recruiter next week. # more weeks to go am home for the weekend. Look forward to hearing from you! I can only hope I have better luck than the others. If not I have a few other aces up my sleeve.

    Thats awesome ! Glad yer having a good time out there. Just make the most of it all and im sure you'll do great, and hope to see ya out on the road soon !!
    My otr training will be done tonight, or next trip actually. I have 8hrs left then im off mentors truck ! 240hrs go by fast once yer out there.

    Good luck and Ill be sure to wave at the next AIT truck I see when im pulling into phx.. Be safe !!

    Wow, Yea that went fast for even me. Been watching your adventure since you started posting AZ. Keep in touch let me know how it goes for you as you roll out solo. Well time to pack up my laptop and drive back to Phoenix. Sure glad my dad lives up there. Makes it nice not having to stay in a hotel.
