Mine's had a check engine light ever sinnce I signed for it. Turned it into 2 different Swift shops (Troutdale and Lathrop), Kenworth Pape Stockton and Peterbilt Rush Pharr Texas and the only thing each place did was reflash the computer to clear the code and 50 miles later the light would come back on. Couldn't go over 35 on the freeway with an empty trailer, no engine brakes, took it to Denver terminal. Rush truck centers has a sort of dedicated Cummins guy who comes down and works on the trucks. This guy does outstanding work. He cleaned up my DPF filter and cleared all my codes, most of that work was warranty, and only charged me $390 bucks which is what Rush Pharr TX charged me for 1/2 of 1% of the same work.

He recommended that I bump the idle up to at least 900 RPM's when idling for comfort, and as part of my post trip, to run the parked regen- this will have the effect of clearing out any junk in the filter should the regular driving during the day not take care of it automatically. Nobody had told me this stuff before, hope it helps anyone else reading this.

It's important for those light to work even in daytime-- what if you got pulled into a scale for an inspection....

Abby and I are on our way there (SLC) manana.

I had called my vet yesterday to find out about her shot record and stuff (I know I know should have taken care of this stuff long ago when you suggested it)- got her distemper up to date, checked for heartworm (negative) and got a preventative shot for that, and lyme disease as well (nagative) + a shot. Got all this done at the Petsmart within walking distance to the Denver terminal-- found out there are 750 Banfield veterinary type places like this inside Petsmarts around the country. This is great news for OTR drivers with pets where it might be difficult to get the pet to the home vet in a timely manner.

Scottied, don't know about tomorrow, but they were overbooked in SLC today. They offered me 2 pre plans I couldn't do (HOS) before giving me this one I'm on now. All 3 were sent in rapid succession, so there's no shortage of freight there.

Currently I'm in Idaho, heading to WA.

Next time take the 6 out of Bishop to the 360 to 95 to 50 alt to 95 alt. Only 1 bad grade and 1 town(Fallon) to crawl through. 40 miles longer but 30 mins faster and you save fuel.
It will put you on 80 about mile mark 46 in Fernley.

In Tulsa OK now after the Dollar Tree unloads. Got a mild case of heat stress and decided the money ain't worth the potential injury. Lots of twisting and picking up boxes off the deck. Staying OTR for now.

Tacoma, WA, deliver at 5 am, then live load at 10:30 for a 3000 mile run to the northeast that delivers on the 28th. Going to have to take a 34 in a few days so its going to be tight. Hate leaving the northwest right now though, its a cool 56 degrees out right now with a good breeze.
