Had the same problem with my left steer on inside edge. Thought it was alignment, but Lincoln changed tire and viola no mo problema.

According to Lenoir City, this truck had new steers when they did the last B service...and I'm 2200 miles short of another B...that's a serious alignment issue. But, by the time I got out of the shipper on Saturday, and made my way to deliver in Venore, TN...it was 3 pm when I pulled on the Lenoir City yard...all they could do is put another tire on, and replace a tail light plug that had one of it's pins corrode off...The write up dude said they had 80 RO's written up that day, and it was a real scorcher. They told me to make sure I tell which ever shop I have do the B next, to have an alignment done.

Crete does it again...since I had mistakenly not messaged for my home time when I should, I put in for home time a few days late... I showed my home time for this Tuesday before midnite...I was home on Tuesday, by 1pm... I only have 1300 miles, but by Tuesday...and 4 days off.

I chatted with them there a while...they are just starting to get the new Internationals with the Maxforce engine in...they had 2 on the lot that they are suppose to have ready asap...but if they stay that busy, it might be winter. Most of the trucks that they had in the shop were newer Internationals, and they couldn't do anything to them because they aren't allowed to stock many parts for them, and on the weekend, the International dealership is closed after noon on Saturday. So if a truck comes in and needs something they don't have, the driver is stuck until Monday.

That is not too bad for any org, but in my short 6 mos they've hit all 3 respectively and respectfully. Albeit, with due notice and some inter (I mean mid)-course corrections. The Boss is happy, so I am ecstatic. Life is good.....NO, I am not a recruiter, nor a koolaid drinker, just realistic. :)

ET is no longer driving for Crete. He is in corporate sales now, I believe.

Sorry, I cannot rival ET and his numbers. He should make a killing in sales with those. Just a driver trying to make a living without killing myself in the process. My dream is to die of OLD age...not less than 80, but won't be driving until then, just as long as it takes.....whatever that means. Anyone know of a manufacturer's recall by Freightliner on the Century?

Hello All. I have been driving for close to two years now . I started off with Swift and after 7 months left for a local job close to home with better pay. I mostly drive Southeast regional now when I do drive . I have been here a little over year and was recently put over shipping and recieving that means alot less driving and alot more stress. I miss the road and have recently put in some apps and Shaeffer is recruiting me... I have been reading all the threads but want to know what orientation is like ? I live very close to the Tifton GA. teminal and have no tickets or violations and a perfect DMR ... Would appreciate any help I can get from some of the experienced drivers that have been with the company for awhile as I am seriously considering them... Thank you ...

Shaeffer orientation I believe is separate from Crete. Although we did receive some cursory info about reefers. I drove one before here, so it was not anything earth shattering. Orientation is straight forward just about policies and procedures and paperwork. Sorry don't have more Shaeffer info, but I suspect very similar, but taylored to their apps. Good luck.:yes2557:

Im currently a driver student out of Roadmaster in tampa florida. I dont even know if crete hires out of florida but i did call them just now and left a message as im waiting for a call back now. I am prior military and found this info on the internet today and posted it here so any prior military that are interested in crete can call and talk to someone about this military program they offer. When i get a call back or get a hold of someone from crete i will post what information i get.

Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking are pleased to announce the addition of a Military Program to our Driver Training Program. Crete and Shaffer want to make the transition back to civilian life as easy as possible, therefore, we’d like to provide drivers the opportunity of a great career with a debt free and stable company.
The program requires the driver to have a Class A CDL license, be honorably discharged, have 2 years of Active Duty Military experience in the last 5 years, and have 1 year of military semi tractor trailer combination experience in the last 5 years. Drivers will be compensated $500 a week during the 8 week training, and will earn between $.37 and $.40 cents per practical mile after being released from the road training program.
“I am excited that the new military program is active. We’ve been working hard to get the program up and running, and I can’t wait to see the positive results. The 8 week program is designed to take the semi tractor trailer skills learned in the military and translate them to civilian commercial driving. Our program is different from other programs because we have great benefits, excellent pay, and the driver will be paired with an experienced trainer over those 8 weeks. Additionally, I want to share my sheer gratitude to all of the individuals who have served our country,” says Jeff Dady, Driver Development Manager at Crete Carrier.
