when ever you miss a drill you have to make it up within two months or they'll report you as AWOL (it's not the same as Active AWOL). so to make up the drill you SUTA (or what ever the acronym is). you pretty much go to the Reserve/National Guard service center and do all of the work they don't want to do.. shred paper, organize TM's, 'ell mop the floor. Thursday i was finding keys to our vehicles (i'm in a 88M slot in a Transportation unit) and pretty much PMCS them.. we have about three dead ling trucks, and about two trucks that have weak batteries.. i told them that if they were driven they'd be alright.. after that they had me put fuel in all of them which was just me driving from the motor pool to the fuel point 400yrds away and then back.. Friday i sat in an office and sorted keys...yep that's pretty much it.

the thing that gets me, is that next month when we do drill, we're gonna drive five vehicles, and then move everything from one storage room to another.. it's all just one big waste of money if you ask me..

Uhhh... this is the junior assistant military here. You were expecting Seal Team 6?

Be happy you were sorting keys, and not something really wunnerful like cleaning out the porta-potties! With a toothbrush!!

i've already done all of the cool stuff i'd want to do in the military, jumping out of c130, c130j, c17, uh60, ch47. gunning with the mrk19, 240b... all i want to do now is just work.. but they dont have work and for some odd reason they still want me to show up.. i figured since the defense budget was gonna get cut, they'd try to save as much money as possible, but i guess the military doesn't see it that way.
