Update With prime!!! so i have been gone for a month now, finally made it back home last night. i will try to give an organized rundown of my experience thus far.

in the beginning there was a lot of information to take in but prime makes sure you learn what you need to know. it took me 3 trie to pass my cdl test... i was just too freaking nervous but i had problems with the allydock until a good ol trucker showed me a trick..
after getting my cdl we went out on the road for another 2 weeks and got some more miles under my belt...
at first, for someone as myself who never drove a truck before, i thought it just wasn't for me. but my trainer is good and worked with me...
the only things that i would really say i had a problem with is, being away from home for a month and a half (thats Looong) and learning to sleep on the truck and various different places... i am on a truck without a apu or inverter yet so my trainer wanting to keep her idle down...there were night where we had to sleep in either extreme cold, or extreme heat. it is also expensive to live on the road but i have learned how to maneuver around that( just be very cheap, NO lavish meals and keep ur wallet in the truck when stopping at truck stops, take only 5 or 10 bucks in).

other than those minor things, this has been an alright experience so far, i've made some friends, learnt the things that i need to know. once u get qualcomm downpacked and learning how to back in busy or small docks, its pretty much laid back.
I haven't got any really bad weather driving and i am a little concerned about the winter driving...

As far as prime, i was told that i would be able to get a dedicated route when done with training or regional...now i have learned that they no longer offer that, so ill have to stick out the OTR... after being out for 3 straight weeks, i start getting antsy to get home and take care of home... Some people are very comfortable out there and maybe it is something that i will learn to get used to... I will update after i am done with my miles.

Very few last long. Some will get their own truck, but won't make it a year.

Congrats on getting your CDL and good luck with the regional run(prefer otr myself) when did you test out because now that I think of it I(& ORD) may have been on the pad one night while you were practicing your parallel

One thing that we have to remember that this really isn't a job its a lifestyle a requiring a lot of your time also a lot of ppl aren't cut out for it just ask my reefer trainer he's had 2 students in the past two weeks and they both decided they wouldn't do it within the 1st 4 days

    harleysmith64 Thanks this.
