The real reason for e-logs is incompetent safety departments that can't keep drivers from following dispatchers' instructions to violate HOS .Cowmobile, Mommas_money_maker and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
The reason for eLogs is simply that the technology is there, has been there, and is now starting to be used in a more widespread fashion. It's easier record keeping. -

Yes i am dispatch per the computer ,as in the way the load is set up,see we get a "Planed Load Summary" prior to load,we have to ascertain if we can do the load(As in use the frontal lobe to make sure we can do it per the load plan),but if we have a unforseen problem with it my Fleet Mgr" can change things with planner,,(again with the Planning,huh?),,once we "commit"to load we are assigned to it
Nothing is automatic,but lets see Ive been on my 10 hr break for 3 hrs,now i need to go to sleep the other 7 off(hmmmm just like you),,,yeah I know what you are saying i cant sleep 10 straight myself
