I have seen one picking up just outside of Reno, a little north at a place that we pick up some heavy loads.

Wasn't Swift at one time trying to get into boat hauling, that would explain the straight truck cabovers if they are flatbeds.
There are still some of the old Swift enclosed car carriers and stinger steers that I see now and then.
You CAN still buy an Argosy in the states but ONLY as a Glider, and I believe it is only available in the old body style. -

Wow. I wonder if anyone knows how to drive them anymore.

You know I'm not really sure, so many companies got out of the car hauling gig in 2008/2009 I'm not sure if some of these companies that had a "fringe" division are still in it or not.
If I had to guess I would say they are not, about 2 years ago there were a bunch of those Swift/Argosy soft side haulers for sale. Most of the ones I looked at were in pretty rough shape. -
Every once in a while, I'll see a full size parking lot in the Southeast area.

I thought someone told me several years ago that Swift sold their auto division to Waggoneers. Maybe wrong, but I do know that a year or so ago I saw one of their trucks, a cabover, pulling one of those soft side trailers...you could still see where the Swift logo was on the side of the trailer. Couldn't tell about the tractor though.
