If other states do it like IL you don't even need to study because it is computerized and multiple choice and it shows you the right answer when you get it wrong then you just retake it immediately and done deal.
To clarify I am telling you this not to say that you shouldn't take the tests seriously, you absolutely 100% should, I am telling you this so that you don't stress out.Last edited: Jan 14, 2012

Read your states CDL testing manual, all the correct answers are in there, as far as
"If other states do it like IL you don't even need to study because it is computerized and multiple choice and it shows you the right answer when you get it wrong then you just retake it immediately and done deal." I don't think this applies to a CDL test, probably only to 4-wheelers, at least from what I see by the way they drive. -
I don't know about Ohio testing laws but some states make you wait 24 hrs if you fail to retake it.
-
Heck, I think its 7 days in TN?....... but I could be wrong -
Arizona is 24 hrs.
Illinois was I believe if you fail 3 times in a row then you sit out 30 days before you can retake it again.
But I see OP is in Ohio so this info helps him very little LOL. -
They give you three chances to pass the permit test and the driving skills test. Most cities have computerized tests that are multiple choice. All answers are in the CDL manual, you'll just have to read it throughly. Once you have the concept of all the information, the actually DMV test will be easy. Good luck, they made the test so you won't be in a truck without really knowing how to control it. Driving a truck isn't just holding a steering wheel. I had a container that weighed 43,000lbs and if I didn't have the knowledge from the CDL manual, I would have myself and the public in danger. The CDL manual is all you need. It is free at the DMV.
Destruction1028 Thanks this. -
I attended class with a guy from Washington DC. Our instructors begged him not to take the written tests until they covered the material in class and he could consistently score high on each of the million practice tests. Here is why, this is quoted from the Washington DC DMV website.
