if you can understand what surge is. The difference between a bulk head and a baffle, it's rather easy.

At least one of the easier endorsements to get.

Not sure which sucks more, Schoolbus or hazmat.

I sure like the idea of avoiding contact with customers who get their load late. Tankers seem to minimize this.

Try pulling into a station that's been out for a while, you'll deal with plenty of irate people :biggrin_25516: :biggrin_255:

    Hey Voyageur 1968,
I start pulling tankers of used oil to NYC for a outfit out of Ottawa, Ontario next week. New experience for this brother, any words of advice.

I'm only in the tank business 2 months now, so I'd like to defer to any of the more seasoned veterans who might read this thread from time to time.

That being said, pay double attention to any training you receive. Take notes or do some video with your cell phone if you can. It's easy work, but you need to pay attention to what your doing at all times. I got slightly distracted one night during my second week on the job, and pulled the hose before closing the valve. I got a nice bath that night. Good thing that it was only spring water.

When loading or unloading, if in doubt (connections, vents, etc) double check and make sure everything is correct.
