Accept when it runs head on into you and hits the front of the truck. Like it commited suicide. I still have on my DAC from years ago when I nailed a very large animal in the dark. It is still on there as incident.

Things are interesting now. The environment has changed such that a company gains nothing by summarily firing people for mistakes because the CSA points stay with the carrier as well. By the same token a driver cannot just quit and start fresh at a new company; his points follow him.
Add to that, the pendulum is swinging back to the drivers' favor insofar as truck availability now; more trucks than drivers. We know this because there is an aggressive campaign to re-recruit old Swift drivers who have left and a laser focus on retention of current drivers.
The chivalrous young forked horned buck trying to show off for the does, runs out and head butts my left headlight, breaking it from its mounts, pushing it through the hood opening. Oh yeah, the buck broke his neck too. So accident report etc, file a claim, price out a replacement headlight assembly of $380 bucks. Claims calls back and says $1000 deductible please. I told them to cancel the claim I will fix it myself. Drove around for a week with a bunch of daisy-chained zip ties holding the light in place til I could put the new one in.
To Swift's credit, it is down for a non-preventable.A21CAV Thanks this. -
I had a windshield replaced after a small crack became a large crack after going thru the wash bay here in PHX. Paid nothing for the windshield, but SWIFT wrote it up as an incident. It is on my DAC

Swift onroad tried to give me a preventable accident "hit stationary object" when I ran out of fuel. Got safely clear of the road, no hitting of anything. My DM sent me a Qualcomm asking about it, if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have even known. When I called him he said he'd get it cleared up. I should pull my DAC and make sure it got cleared off...
