Hahaha! I'm a product of AR schools myself. :biggrin_2559:
Maybe I had the better side of the school system though.

    Good Grief!

What's with folks these daze, not knowing where what is?

I recently had a break down in my four-wheeler in Santa Rosa, New Mexico and had to have money sent by Western Union. My friend back home went to the Western Union office to wire the money by Western Union Money Order. She was informed that transfer would require an International Exchange.

    Why?

Because they can only wire regular Money Orders in the United States.

My friend asked where the hail they thought New Mexico was located.
    They weren't sure.
So, she asked what state comes after Arizona?
    Uhhhhhhh,...........................

    Hint, New Mexico.

It took awhile for that to sink in.
The next problem was where to get ALL the checks cashed. It seems the Western Union office in Santa Rosa is at the T/A truckstop, and they would only cash $300 worth of checks, of which my total was $2,500. NO place would cash them between New Mexico and Oklahoma. If a friend in Oklahoma hadn't personally known the bank manager, who did cash them for me, I'd still be stranded.

I DO NOT recommend Western Union for money transfers. Even places they GUARANTEED would cash the checks, wouldn't.
And the banks wanted me to have an account with them.

    Hey!
    I live in California!
WHY would I have an account at banks in Oklahoma? :biggrin_2551:
    For Pete's sake.:biggrin_2552::biggrin_25521::biggrin_25516:

this was a few years ago before the internet was big. My grandfather was looking for a business in boston, Mass. when my grandfather told where it was the operator asked "is that in the united states"?

    WOW.

East VA is right next to New Delaware and just west of South Georgia.

Shouldn't take you long to get there.

If you keep the left door shut, you'll be there by the second Thursday of next week. :biggrin_25519:
