I had 6 loads scheduled for my 2 drivers yesterday. They are supposed to pick up at 0700; one driver got his first load at 1130, the 2nd got his at 1230. First driver got back @ 1330, and they didn't have any other loads ready. I sent out numerous emails to my contacts regarding the late loads and that my drivers weren't to be charged with late deliveries, and asking how they wanted to handle the 4 loads that the shipper didn't have ready. Never got any replies back, so I took it upon myself to reschedule delivery for today, and since I had my 3rd driver back, I took another 4 loads for today.

The consignee likes to hound me when I can't take all the loads tendered, or a driver breaks down and can't make a delivery, but when I try to reach them because the shipper doesn't have the loads ready, nobody is around. I'll probably get my butt chewed out when somebody decides to look into what happened with the loads, but I have copies of every email I sent. Let 'em chew, my guys and I got the job done without their help. I'm proud of the job they did. I've already got them scheduled for 8 loads/day for the first of the week.
