Day time running lights don't ya know. I wonder if there is a way I can have them shut off through the computer?
Drum roll please, Today I got a level 1. I got hit for not having the upside down L reflective tape on back of truck/sleeper. 393.11TU
This is just a no win anymore. The dot cop also fussed because the wear area on my trailer drums had rust on them! Drums and pads are only a month old, just replaced with all new. Their just ###### nit pickin these days! I wasn't written up for the rust, it was just pointed out...
What can you do? Soon as I fix all their little #######, they'll find a couple more nit picks.
I did however get a new sticker on my windshield today lol. I can't figure them out.
Weirdest violation on DOT inspection

I think if you poke around behind the headlight, you might find an extra wire for those daytime running lights. I don't like them either. The reason I think there must be an extra wire is because those lights actually run the high beams on a low power setting. The best way to do that would be to have an extra low power wire run to the high side of the bulb. Could be wrong, I've never had a truck with them. Or a car for that matter.Kansas Thanks this. -

Yeah, what is even more awesome, is that typically the plate stays with the trailer for the life of the trailer... and it costs plenty if you need a duplicate... It was WI plates. I suppose they will get out the orange an black paint in that company now... LOL!

I heard of a guy getting written up for a burned out license plate light on the back of his tractor. Ummm there is no license plate, who cares?
I got written up for not having "Operated By" on my doors last year at a Kansas scale.JJKid Thanks this. -
I'd say mine was when a PA State trooper wrote me up for not filling out an inspection report on a day when I logged off/duty while parked for a day and a half in Erie, PA. "Why should I fill out a report if I didn't drive?" I asked. He said it didnt matter, every day you are on the truck, you HAD to fill out a report. This was back in 1999.
I told the Stevens safety supervisor about it and she said "He's an idiot".
With that officers logic, nobody could take a 34 hr reset because you'd have to log 15 min to do that inspection.double yellow Thanks this.
