You're right Leeann is a real good person. She had me do 2 drivers tests last year...and payroll screwed up paying me for them...but before I could notice, Leeann messaged me about it and had it straightened out, and I also got an apology from her for Lincolns mistake. This isn't my terminal and they remembered to keep an eye on my pay...

Came from Dallas, now sitting in BFE. 250 miles to go, doesn't deliver 'til Monday. Probably get to Lincoln terminal tomorrow around noon and spend a day and a half. Averaged more than 500 miles a day since I got back on the truck 5 days ago.

Still training, still can't back, or shift, or make turns properly or back. (I had to list backing twice I'm so bad at it). I went up curb in a traffic circle (while going forward) at the receiver and rubbed that metal ring with the 2 long bolts that holds the air side of the trailer brake chamber on. It broke in half. Luckily, there was a truck parts place open just around the corner from the receiver. We put it on ourselves and got on our way. I couldn't see until after I pulled onto the street it was a circle with a concrete island and not a normal dead end street with a cul-de-sac at the end.

Well, off I go to Coryland....a-freekin-gin. Deadheaded from Cedar Rapids to Iowa Falls to pick up a load going to a suburb of Syracuse for Monday. Good miles, and enough time for a reset...but Coryland. If I had been just a little earlier, the Crete that emptied just before me was headed to the land of fruits and nuts. At least I'll be in an area where we have some customers and a fresh 70, so all is not lost I suppose.

I have crunched the numbers...as of 8/19 I will have been out 32 days. Paid miles, minus the 40 I have left on this load to deliver tomorrow, I will have been dispatched on 12875 miles (plus 1 2-stop load, and 1 3-stop load). And the log department says you can't do 12,000 legally...well, I'm on e-log, and I just did....so there :biggrin_25522:...and with a good number of short-to-medium length runs. I haven't calculated my actual miles driven, but my OOR % has been higher than usual, so I'm sure my actual miles will be in the mid 13k's. As much as it hurts to admit...e-log has been a real plus for me, and.....shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I have gotten to the point to where I actually prefer it :biggrin_25521:

During my two-week transition from paper to "e", I actually ended up using a little less of my 70 on e-logs then on paper. As long as you're not sitting in traffic (i.e., NYC) too often it works out well for the driver. I officially went paperless Friday.

I was told during orientation you could log off duty on e logs while stuck in traffic and the system would keep you off duty until you travelled a certain distance.

The explanation I got, and I feel is appropriate, is if you could, while being stuck in traffic, theoretically walk away from your rig (such as during a total shutdown of the highway), you could go to line 1. Slow traffic does not qualify.

While the QC will keep you off-duty until you travel a given distance, it really isn't legal. As the line may stay on line one, your location will continue to move from such as "1 mile NE of Xxxxxx" to "2 miles NE of Xxxxxx", so if an auditor really wanted to get persnickity, they could do so.
