First and foremost, where did Truthin disappear to?

Do not take this as me bashing Heartland Express, but just being very aggressive and assertive in ways you can tune up your thread to be more credible and believable. We all know that the company has it's share of long-term, happy drivers but, we also know that there are plenty who aren't....

Yeah I think that I speak for many when I say you should keep posting your trips. However, to paint the whole picture for everybody to see, you should really tell the whole story, as anyone can come into a forum and post numbers here and there, while simply saying that they had a good/bad week while leaving out even the slightest little bit of details. And that unfortunately, makes you sound too much like nothing more than a recruiter

Here's a few suggestions, provided you're up to the challenge:
-Post both your paid dispatched miles AND then your actual odometer miles each week for every mile that truck turns over whether on-duty or off, that way everyone can see the true difference of what you are/aren't getting paid for, regardless if you're cracking $65,000+ annually.
-Days working and days off, and be 110% completely truthful and honest. Don't count a few hours at home as a day off but a full, uninterrupted, true 24 hours! The reason I am adamant about this is because a very good friend of mine runs system there at Heartland out of Jax and will usually stay out between 12-14 days on average. The problem is many times he must fight to get a full 2 days off (or even 3 full days if he stays out 2½-3 weeks). A 34-hour reset does not constitute quality time off after two weeks out, especially not if you have a family.
-Show the real numbers concerning how many hours you lose weekly when live loading/unloading, waiting for relay loads, waiting in the inspection line at a yard, etc., etc.
-Tell us how many of these loads are done where you must completely flip your schedule around in the week. You know, when, for example, you have one of those FedEx loads that picks up late afternoon and must deliver the next morning, and your prior load(s) kept you running days, sleeping nights.

Cyanide I have a good friend that also drives out of Jacksonville. He's been there for 5 years and I'd go out on a limb and say he's one of Heartlands best drivers. He makes the money but to back up what you said, it doesn't matter how long he stays out for, 2 weeks to a month, 34 hours to 2 days off. Also he spends 90% of his time in the Northeast. I asked why he doesn't run regional in the Southeast and he says he would take a hit to his CPM. So what Heartland does is send all the "OTR" drivers from the Northeast down to the Southeast and vice versa. Not a company I'd work for but to each their own.

yeah dna mach your right. i am always in the north east region all the time and it's all low miles it's never worth it. and when me hours run out and tell them dont have hours to get to safe haven they dont care. and you end up with a log violation you get suspended after a coulple of the violations and eventually fired and hope you dont get pulled over by state boy then it's a big fine and you get shut down. but they dont care at all they will just fire you and just hire somebody else. very very bad company stay away. ill be make me way out soon bad company to work for.

DNA Mach... True, no doubt about it that there is good money that can be made at Heartland, as I have talked to many who state that immediately. But they also complain about some of the policies there. For those who are constantly griping about something yet they still stay there, they must be more tolerant than I and willing to put up with the b.s.

Me personally, I don't care care how well they pay, IMHO it's not worth their price of admission concerning hometime, paying short route miles, the FedEx and Sears loads, routing drivers along local cow and goat trails, needing permission to run toll roads, no inverters, possible long unpaid waits in the inspection line, etc. But, it is just like there are drivers who are dead-set against hauling other types of trailers, even if you can show them an all-around better deal concerning pay and benefits. But alas, I digress, to each their own; what works for one doesn't work for another!

Cyanide, I'm still here. I have been too busy to post lately, will try to catch up on that. Really, I just have to laugh at some of the things one or two of the other people are saying on here. Make you run illegal? are you kidding me? Keep you out for weeks? I need some boots to wade through some of the B.S. here ha ha ha ha. At the end of the day you're either up to trucking or you're not. The 'this and that' details are all well and good, but when you get a chance to talk to someone like me who has been at heartland almost 20 years, you figure it out quick why we believe in this company. looks for the heartland drivers with the 'million safe miles' decals on the truck, and there are a ton of them, and ask them. not the driver who has only been there for 2 months. Take care
