does the TND 720 show the side street names as you go by or does it just show the names of the main roads? I have talked to some other drivers that have the older units and they say it does not show all the street names just the main roads I have never used a rand so I was just wondering if this is true.

Depends on the level of zoom. If it is zoomed way it it will show everything.

Also depends if you are in a 2d mode (north up, direction up) or 3d mode.

    Thanks,
    Mark

how much internet usage per month does the 720 use? since u have a difficult time connecting to a wifi connection at a truck stop according to tech support for Rand Mcnally. Does the "internet" stay on constantly if you keep ur TND or phone on?

Part of the issue that is being worked on is that at truck stops usually you have as some hotels, a "front" browser that you have to log into. The TND will not access that "front" browser. If it is a free Wi-Fi that can be "seen" then you can connect to it.

If you use your phone or Mi-Fi as a Hotspot, then so long as you have a Hotspot active the TND will stay connected till you either drop the Hotspot or turn the TND off.

Usage depends on what types of data you are trying to run meaning what weather data you are requesting. Normally it should run about 300mb-600mb a month. This will differ depending on what you are requesting of the weather to display.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark, I gotta know what the 720 has against AZ-93. The 510 had the same hate.

Example: Route from...well city center of Phoenix to City Center of Vegas. it routes you down the I-10 then north. (6h 25m 344 Mi, Shortest Route or Quickest Route, Allow all)

Add Wikiup, AZ city center as a Via, and you go along the 93, and your distance is 283 miles total (5 hours 26 min).

Was funny any time I tried to fight the GPS and just ignore it, it kept trying to route me back to Blythe even past Wickenburg.

I am a very heavy user of these features and I hardly notice the usage. I don't believe I've topped a gigibyte yet or come anywhere near it.

    Mark,

I need the specifications on the DC power supply. Stepped on mine and cracked the tip along the threads. Holding together for now but it needs to be replaced.
