Can't you use some of the other loadboards like Landstar or OOIDA's to secure loads, or do you have to exclusively use the Mercer loadboard?

Pretty much.. I know it says something in the Drivers Manual about it. But the question was brought up in orientation and the way I described it was pretty much how it was described to us.. But that was 2 1/2 years ago..

That is why I left Mercer. Certain areas are really bad for them. I do think a little favoritism goes on there, espicially in tight areas. Also Mercer only allows one agent for an area. Their way of calling it "fair". Good Luck getting out of there.

WideLoad: Once you get unloaded in CA. you go on this same list., Then you can take a load out here and still maintain your position on the list.. That is the problem. They guys from Calif. are bouncing around west of Dallas and staying on top of the list. And they are several of those guys so I keep getting bounced down the list. Not a fair way, but it is their company, they set the rules.
Hopefully I get out of here before the weekend. I think by tomorrow afternoon, I might be reconsidering how far I'm gona deadhead this weekend.

Actually, It can be done if it's ran through the local agent. Problem with doing that is then one loses 26% to Mercer on a load already dirt cheap. The loads on the other boards in this area are going for less than 1.50 per mile before the 26% cut which would put it close to a $1 mile.
Any decent paying load for the area, the Mercer agent already has on our board. Those are on our board as a CBD.

Usually is 3-5 loads a day out of here. Monday they had 2 Can Ams loads and that has been it.
    Maybe the election killed everything.
