I was there a whopping 7 weeks. Lets just say my dispatcher and I didn't see eye to eye...and she(I won't tell you her name was Linda)had too thin a skin, and I had just gotten being f-leased by Prime, Inc. The biggest rub was because their q/comm(at the time)didn't put the name of the person sending the message on the messages coming to your q/comm. So she'd tell me what to do, then her supervisor would over ride her and tell me to do something else...but I didn't know it was 2 people. So it was do this...no do that...once in a while that kinda thing is ok, but it happened 2 or 3 times a week...and I got testy...her feeling got hurt...I got called to Jax...and we came to a mutual understanding that I didn't fit there...but they didn't like the fact that I compared their incompetence to Steve's previous company aka Silver Eagle/Arnold.

Right now the only thing stopping me from moving over is the loss of insurance for 120 days. My wife my need gall bladder surgery soon, and I know 5 minutes after I leave Crete it'll burst and we'd be screwed. I now have 2 weeks vacation I can use when I get ready to apply and hopefully be accepted. Right now I can't cover the cost of a cobra or the non-group cost of getting short term medical on my own.

Got to GP on Tuesday afternoon after delivering my Backhaul in Arlington a day early. Freight was slow this week at GP due to tons of drivers coming back to work all at once from Thanksgiving home time diluting the available freight. I was on the board for Wednesday and did get a call Wednesday afternoon with 5 choices for loads. I picked a one stop run up to Denver and left this morning and will deliver it tomorrow morning at 7am. I already have a Backhaul picking up in Denver at noon tomorrow that delivers in San Antonio Monday at 7am. I am going to try and swing through GP on the way down to San Antonio to turn in my paperwork for the week. With the carryover from Thanksgiving week, I will have about 3700 miles on next weeks check.
It was good times at GP on Wednesday. I was able to meet several of the drivers that post to this thread. We almost had a ex-Cretan jamboree going in the Poly break room at one point.

I'm saving my Crete logo'd shirt and safety vest when I leave so I can stencil a whizzing calvin on it when I go around known Creten fueling/stopping areas.

Well, congratulations to me! Today is my one year anniversary at Poly and I'm sitting in my brand new International ProStar that I got yesterday. I got a call from outbound around lunch with five choicies fro tomorrow. (Was on the board for today, but as Chemster stated I too was pushed back a day.) I've got five stops.. two in IL on Sunday, one in IN Monday morning, one in WI Monday afternoon, and the final in WI on Tuesday morning.

Looking forward to the maiden-voyage of the new truck. Driving it around the yard it is very quiet and rides like a car. We'll see if that is true for US69 in OK. :biggrin_2559:

    Dinomite and chemster Thank this.
