I think I hate the nights more than most. Actually turned it down last year because of the night driving. But this year freight seems to be cheaper and slower and the UPS pays $1.80 for all miles and drop and hook.
With Christmas, I need to make little more so I gona havta work more.
Yes it is pulling doubles. The more I make them wiggle, the more people get out of my way.

I love working nights !!!!! i worked straight 8pm-5am for 4 years pulling containers years ago. I made double what others were making during the day shift and there were NO lines at the rail yards. Plus the traffic was completely gone by midnight (I was in downtown Chicago)

These UPS loads are off to a lousy start for me and other guys that I've talked to. They keep changing the schuduling about every half hour and canceling loads on a few other drivers. Also the different hubs don't get along with each other so they send empty trailers with trash and pallets to each other.
And the number of phones calls they expect us to make. 3 calls on each end for each trailer. And couple more in the middle if you stop for anything.
But hey it's paying good. I got over 900 miles in for Monday.

I keep a load alert with LS set for Houston. I can get miltiple loads out of Chicago any day I want going down there, but from the last 2 weeks I haven't seen a #### thing coming back out of H-Town at all. I plan on staying out of there till at least March if I can help it.

mercer is easily 3 to 1 flatbed loads over stepdeck loads out of houston. if you go there or live there have a flat.

personally i do my best to stay out of pipe yards and my step usually does that, not this week though. at least it is only 10k lbs and i am getting 8mpg

    SHC Thanks this.

WideLoad: Didnt' someone suggest a step deck doesn't do as well here at Mercer.
But I'm just picking on you. Atleast you was able to be at home while wanting on something out.
