Gotta say, just started local delivery and it is some brutal stuff. Not the most demanding work I have done but it ranks up there. And I have learned some things, like school kitchens are actually quite clean and sanitary, whereas I don't think I will ever eat again at a certain chain restaurant represented by an old man in a string tie. The things I have seen :puke:

Yes sir..I'm with you on that.

Ignorance is bliss when it comes to food prep, storage etc.

Makes you wish you could undo what you've seen..the horror!

Hey you ever eat at a little place called Theresa's,right there in Hollidaysburg/Duncansville?

It's right off plank road behind the comfort inn..not a bad little mom and pop place.

I delivered to a little place (2 docks) that supplied chinese food to chinese restaurants and weirdly everyone smoked as they handled product....it really is pork not cat, bit beware the ashes on it. They also left products out for hours in the sun, because they were rearranging bits in the freezer.

    So I learned two things:

    1. All the dock workers were Korean, Chinese might be in the title of the place, but Korean writing is way different than Chinese, and it was all they were writing.

    2. The less you know about the food production the better.

"Those who love hot dogs and respect the law should never watch either being made."...gonna have to look it up for proper credit, but I suppose you could expand it to include the above as well!

The Jungle? I believe Teddy Roosevelt saw that and the FDA was born. I could be mistaken.

Lol, yeah, after walking in the place I had to scrub the bottoms of my boots with bleach before I would walk in the house. I was literally slip sliding around in slime in and outside the cooler and these were key deliveries before the places even opened.
