So that's how the big timers do it drop the load park the truck fly home until you find the next load than fly back and do it again

 

Years ago when the money was good with the heavy stuff, a guy could do that. Not now.. Work hard then take time off.
Plus the 20 hour plane ride is a pain. Did a quick trip years ago. Landed and was in Thailand for 5 days and got an email asking me to come back and do a ld.. Paid me big time, plus they covered the change fees for the ticket. I tried for first class, but they would'nt do that..
Jet lag was a bi!#h, thank goodness for a good crew helping me.

 

honestly the wife and.i.have discussed doing what you do but in centtal or southern mexico or south america.

thiland sounds like i would get myself into way too much trouble though

 

I spent a month in mexico and belize.... doing that is on my radar

 

only thing stopping us is our son. he is trn so i am thinking 8 more years

How does one find the driving jobs out of the states?

 

My guess is you keep a "home" address in the states

 

Last week there seemed to be decent freight and I had hopes that things were making a come back, this week, not looking to good at all.

 

Must be all them new drivers making the difference.
