back at swift

    learned a lesson last night. still here in mira loma terminal,so i parked at the bobtail section by the terminal entrance. won't do that again with trucks leaving or coming and hitting the speed bumps made alot of racket.

    I originally didn't see Frenzy's response about the chains there, go with his advice. I do everything I can to avoid lanes where chains are necessary.

    thanx again scottie. i take evreryones knowledge or experience about driving in winter and snow chains since i have absolutely no experience in that.

    just saw a funny thing just now. a local came in the yard and i noticed he had a peice of cardboard for a mudflap on the trailer tandem. do whatever it takes to get going. lol

    well.. grabbed a load of scrap cardboard and took it to carson. then p/u a load out of southgate and delivered it to walmart dc in loveland co today.woke up this morning and found power steering fluid on the ground. on road sent me to kensworth in grand junction, co and they said it be tues.com beforee its fixed. so onroad said i can do the delivery and then head to denver terminal to gewt it fix. arrived early evening and shop said it be till tuesday before they get to it. have other issus with truck.at least i got the load delivered.

    i never had any problems with this company other than pay isnt the best. but then today its not too great anywhere. problems i did have was even after many years of driving all drivers still have to report to a terminal to take some training test? like hooking up and unhooking trailers? like after 20 years i dont know!!!!:biggrin_2559:

    JD that's no biggie, we all had to do something like it on the kiosk. It's just a part of the on going training to help with the different scores the Government is keeping track of. The low scores keep many of us rolling past the weigh stations as we get the green light.

    well.. the denver term. shop got truck in day ealry. took all day to get eveerything fixed. now waiting for a load.

    not wanting to jump all over your thread or misdirect it but since you just got dfone with the mentor phase , one quick question........ On your 240 what was the pay? I drove for them 5 yrs ago and had family crisis and had to leave getting back to it now just wandering the pay for the 240

    since i am an experience driver, i just did 50 hrs with a mentor(took 2 weeks to do it since it was over the holiday) pay has changed since november. its minimum wage while on duty and +1 dollar extra per hour while driving. so i was paid 8/hr for onduty and 9/hr while driving( i live in calif.)
