You and me both...I've almost lost my mind trying to put up with the Crete 3-ring circus, it's been more frustrating than normal lately.

I love it when a plan comes together. I called backhaul this morning to remind them I would be delivering in Houston on Saturday, and if possible I would like a transfer from Pol-Tex to Henderson so I could pass thru the house. Two hours later I get a call from backhaul with load info for a transfer to Henderson.

This will allow me to spend most of Sunday at home. I could stay a day or two longer, but I need to make as much money as possible before going home for Valentine's weekend. I'll be attending a marriage retreat our church does every other year. Will take time to also get taxes done.

The minus to this run is that I won't turn in paperwork till I get to Henderson which will cause me to skip a pay period. Not a big deal for me, but wanted to remind others this does happen.

Did I mention I like working here?

Well the old Roehl quote about expecting the expected was what I got again at the Del Monte plant. A solid 5.25 hours load time but in better news I was informed that I didn't have any set time to make delivery so I will roll in there after some solid sleep, been a loooooooooooooooooooong day. Looking forward to hooking up on Sunday and starting another westward foray though so all is good.

You may have to wait for your taxes...at least to file them. I heard that the IRS is delaying accepting returns until 1/30/13 due to the fiscal cliff crap.

I'll be doing taxes in February when I take time off for the marriage retreat. So I'm good...I think. With current Federal Administration that could change at any time. Hence, that's why our economy is floundering. Businesses are apprehensive about planning anything due do uncertainty brought by such uncertain policies.

    Stop rant....resume normal thread content.

When I pulled out of that Del Monte it took 7.5 hours to get loaded. I ended up just doing a break there which got me back on track but then the delivery was another 5.5 hour deal. Hope things go faster for you. At least both places had parking so I could just work in breaks to at least keep myself rolling for the most part. Good luck with it!

Just to prove it's not all lollipops & roses here at Poly I post the following.

After delivering in Houston last night I arrived at Pol-Tex about 1945 expecting a drop/hook for the load going to Henderson. But nooooo. Night supervisor said they are behind on production & there are several drivers ahead of me waiting for the same product. I check back this morning at 0800 & was told I'm second in line but production is slow & it would be late today & possibly tomorrow before load is ready. So much for spending most of today at home before heading on to Henderson.

The wife said no problem. She would be slow cooking a pot roast tomorrow. So guess who's taking an extra day to get to Henderson? Nice I can make that decision without having to get approval.

Well this all means the miles this week won't be all that good...2474. All things considered, it could worse.

Did I mention....I still like my job. :)

I wish I could call a 2474 mile week a screwed up week. If I could get 3 out of 4 that good would be an improvement
