i wouldnt say very few rgn loads, they are many that never see the load board, just like you may get a load offer thats not on the board.

Is this your interpretation or mine or maybe a certain DOT officer but not the other DOT officer at the same location of the inspection? :biggrin_25525:

Autocar is exactly right on this.

And as far as the "electronic signature" I'm well aware of how to place a digitized signature on any document or image. The fact that MOST officers will accept it is irrelevant, there are some that do not, and that is just fine with me because they are just enforcing the rule the way it was written. It took quite some time before the log could even be filled in on a computer and printed, lacking only the signature. Read how the reg is written and it says, basically, the form must be completed in the drivers handwriting. It took years for them to allow us to get to this point, and it won't be long before it is a moot point, as EOBRs will be a reality in a few years, whether or not any of us agree with that or not. I've had DOT officers tell me they didn't give a flip whether placards were on tarps, on the freight, on mud flaps, etc, as long as the placards were there and visible. But that's not the law, and Mercer has it's share of tickets to show for it. Remember "officers discretion" determines whether you get cited or not, and generally most of that depends on your attitude and appearance. Again, just because the majority of drivers have not had an issue with not having copies of their logs, or not presenting an original signature, it does not mean they are compliant with the regulations.

flightline, i figure if they want a copy , i give them a copy. any interpretation i have seen doesnt say the oringinal signed one has to be presented , only a copy . just like original paper logs my " original" eclipse log has been sent in.

if len is happy , i am happy

let me ask this question, how many responding to this have a digitized signature they use besides flightline and i ? and how many have seen a digitized signature from one of these log programs?
