bayou, what is your truck at mercer averaging? per mile loaded and empty, miles per week etc , and where is the truck running each week? who picks the loads for your driver, you ,him, or the coordinator?

my avg has always been higher than the fleet avg.

If the fleet average per loaded mile is 1.68, that is not very impressive.

I just thought about that average a little more and hope it is misinformation. If a driver runs 100K miles in a year with 15% D/H that is 1.42/mi on all miles. Seems you could go to any van outfit and get that as a guaranteed RPM on all miles. That is about what we are paying van contractor with a guaranteed RPM & FSC on all miles. Another way of looking at it. Let's say current FSC is .55 per mile. That means their average RPM is 1.13/.75 = 1.50 + FSC. That is not very exciting at all. Hopefully, that is bad information.

the avg that mercer quotes are for all miles loaded and dh, the contract is percentage , so dh miles arent paid.

last time i asked it was 1.72 a mile for all miles ran. you can call at any time and they can give you your individual avg for your truck, percent of dh miles etc.

I am glad that was incorrect. That is much more respectable.

I had a choice when leasing of going with Mercer, Jones or Watkins-Shepard. WS suited my needs a little better, BALT-SEA and I lived in Arlington VA so I went with them. They were good to me and ran my ### off. I know a Mer driver and he's happy there. Never heard Jones Motor complain either.

So far he has pulled 4 loads first paid 1.89 2nd was 1.60 3rd was 2.30/mi with two stops he loaded in WV today headed for oklahoma $1.78 his coordinator has been trying to talk him out of everyload. He is looking for his own loads and I try and look when he is busy

All the loads have been trapped, one load was cancelled on him. Why can't you book a load without going thru your coordinator?

you can book loads through the agent, but the coordinator needs to be able to coordinate :biggrin_25525:

My coordinator does the same thing. I think a good coordinator goes a long way here. Ya ill be sittin in okc tom apparently. Btw on your avg mile and etc. Someone said you could find that out from mercer. Do you ask your coord? Would be nice to know without doing a bunch of math.
