I sure hope you aren't calling a buck seventy seven to the Great Pacific Northwest high dollar! Even if that is to the truck and not gross.

Already had a load going east thats why i took it so no not gonna sit but yes mercers fuel surcharge is way less than what it should be right now. just had lunch with a mercer van guy ben here 4 years leased a used van off of em 4 years ago braggin how the trl was going to be paid this year because when he got it they told him 48 pmts left so he calls them while we are eating and asks em when the last pmt is and they tell him it was 60 months. his face goes blank and jaw hits the floor but hey you know how it goes everyone thinks what an outstanding outfit this is so go mercer. lol

no, i am talking about the seemingly high number to the truck for one load, lol. to someone leasing on who is broke, its has an amazing appeal. it looks like the answer to prayers, its a sucker bet.SHC and herfinharry Thank this.

"Ditto" on learning where not to take loads where you can't get back. I hope all newbies learn to read these posts as they sure helped me to shorten my learning curve when I started out!
Thanks to all you ole timmers!

i am flat out going to call bull on this one. right there in your permit book given to every driver who leases on is a copy of the very trailer lease he signed. one page on there very very clearly shows the payments left on a used trailer and the ending date of the payments.
also clearly spelled out is 100 dollars each month is applied to an escrow fund , which on a 60 month term comes to 6000 dollars, if he leased one with 48 months left. and the end of the payment term the 4800 placed in escrow would be take off the 6000 , leaving 1200 dollars to be paid to own the trl free and clear.
again clearly spelled out in the lease in his permit book, same as the one you got in your permit book.
perhaps reading it would be wise, since apparently you didnt when you signed it.
he should have simply went to his truck go the lease and looked at it, but then that wouldnt have made for a sensational post would it?
when i came here i leased a flat with 28 payments left on it. 4 months from now , at the end of june , i will have 2800 in escrow, i will pay 3200 to own it outright. again right in line with the lease i signed.SHC Thanks this. -

LMAO! Kmx blows money like its nothing, what are you doing, running 80mph all the time? And Bayou we knew long ago would never be happy here, hell I told him how long ago not to put a truck on here because it wouldn't be good enough for him. Did he listen? Hell no! Now look, hes all pissed off, go figure. If you guys think Mercer is such a horrible place then quit! And if you think they are the only ones with a bunch of cheap freight on the board, guess again. Go look at the Landstar threads, and those of other companies that operate similar to Mercer, its the same complaints, cheap freight, ######## are hitting me up with fees and this and that, can't make no money, boohoo. I think the biggest problem is so many of these guys have the entitlement mentality and are leveraged to the hilt in debt, and the minute the economy gets a little slow they start screaming rape.
