    Ask my GPS...

Well, it's about 2315 when I got off the road tonight. Frozen food load, and there isn't much in the way of parking. So I did what I could... as far away from the next guy as I can get. The reefer will start up some, and that can't be helped. I cant turn it off either. So it is what it is.

I can park in the very middle of a foot ball field, no one around. 10 minutes later I have 25 trucks beside me, because if I parked there, it must be safe. I welcome others that have not been out as long as I have. I am not home. I run my side pony to keep Me cool or warm. I pay the bills, My choice. If you can hear a Termo King running, your driving a cheap truck. Had mine insulated at the factory. Get over it. Your a Truck Driver, not an accountant.

Paw-Paw--lets face it we've both been out here a long time--&while it is true the original poster may have started w/good intentions--and it would b nice if everyone always had a safe quiet easy place to park that just isn't how it is--& really never has been--and it #### sure ain't gonna get no better--BUT u no as well as I do--the whole flatbed reefer thing has been going on a long time--back in the day both sides would fight over WHO was gonna park on party row--then it was more what part of the world u were in--Cali-Fl etc--us chickenhaulers ruled the roost--Pittsburg--Cleveland etc...well u get the idea--Today its a whole new Ballgame--Too many long haul trucks and not enuff parking--add to that all the anti-idling (&face it back then nobody shut their truck off from the time they left the house till they got home!)
I will admit I did make a smart ### comment or 2 to some of the sillier posts-- but the bottom line is the original post sounded a lot like whinin as did many of the followups--and while there may have been disagreements about parking what little whining u did hear was considered Totally Unacceptable by the generation that taught us--and was typically met pretty harshly by all--so while things may have changed so many stay the same--so ifn someone is gonna whine better expect to get ur balls busted about it---cause it just ain't becoming:D
    Just my $.02!

I run a lot of Multitemp loads, and even on cycle mode, it doesn't stay off long. One of the zones are going to need to run. Now, if I can, I'll find another reefer to park next to. If I can't, it is what it is. I'm not going to not park when I need to because someone might hear the reefer. At the end of the day, its a truckstop. It's not like I'm pulling a 1993 Honda Civic with a lawnmower exhaust and a $3000 stereo with the subwoofers booming, ya know? Buck up buttercup. I have to sleep too.

    Good points .
I disagree with you about the " Whining " . He asked for a little consideration. I think a lot of these posters , maybe including you , need to get that chip off your shoulders .
Asking people to use a little Common Sense , is not , in my opinion , "Whining " .
You know , my APU is a pretty loud one . I just Love it , when a reefer , or a truck with a " Tornado " fan , parks next to me . I'll run my APU , even if its not needed . I sleep well.
If the place I'm in is quiet , I Won't run the APU , unless absolutely necessary . I prefer quiet to noise , anytime .
As for ruling the Roost , I spent a lot of time in the Monfort lane , back then. Used to swap licenses between three states just before they would suspend it.
This guy has been Attacked , by the Jerks . I knew he would.
They need to get over it , not him. And not me. They're JERKS ! Bye.

Next time you fire up your APU think about where the fumes are going, they wonder around into the truck beside you.

LOL...That is funny. I think maybe u need to start looking at yourself in the mirror. Every time u start pointing at someone else, there r 10 others pointing at u. If u really have been in trucking that long, u should have learned something by now and gotten wiser by now. Talking a big talk means nothing if u cant walk that walk. Sorry, name-calling just seems child-like to me. Be safe out there drivers.

Because people are telling him to get over it is not attacking him. Really unless the complainers are going to do something about it they need to get over it. I've parked next to people who i've ended up having a issue with I either move or deal with it and now that's actually common sense.
