New driver looking at CRST for training

There are a lot of companies that offer sponsored training. do a search and read up, some are better than others.

Swift, prime, cr England, crst, and probably a dozen more i didn't mention.

 

You've heard a million good things about CRST? Wonder how much that cost the company. Passed 6 of their trucks last night and one of the morons had pulled over in the middle of the road where you can split off HWY77 in lincoln to go east on 80 or west on 80. You're headed north there are two big signs there one says east one says west and if you're headed north right is east left is west it's not that hard. If that's the kind of training their drivers get you're better off going to a school and paying it out of pocket.

 

Check into goverment grants and financing so you dont have a year long contract with a company

 

like losttrucker said look into other sources to pay for your training. do a whole lotta research if you have to take company sponsored training because that's where they get you. a year is a long time when you have to...just say'n...

 

Could be why CRST stands for Can't Remember #### Today. You'll run into that type of stupidity on the road. What was worse was trying to get around him moron's front left fender was hanging 2 feet into the road and it was a bit of a tight squeeze getting around him with a concrete divider on my left.

My friend works for Crst right now and not making any money because his truck is constantly in the shop.

 

There are so many ways that you don't have to go to a company and sign your life away, These companies will absolutely ruin you for the rest of your life if you ever to decide to leave before your year is up, Go get the Job Corp or any of those programs to pay for your training, check with the schools that are in your area and see what they take as payment they may be able to assist you in getting into their school at someone elses expense, I would certainly check all of your options, Before signing up for a year of garnishment of your pay to pay your way in to this gig, that way then you can go with a company like Watkins and Shepard who puts you in a truck after a 10 day boot camp and away you go, they will not let you go without the training and ability to control the truck. There are threads on here about the schools as well as the W/S threads. God Luck Dodge the retention schools who may mess you up if you leave early.
