Smaggs, tried to pm you but you have it disabled or something. If you're near Aliquippa PA call Andrews Logistics. I've been pulling tanks with them out of Houston and Dallas for a few months and they turned out to be all they claimed to be and more. They trained me as well since I didn't (and still don't have much) tanker experience. No long haul.
My apologies ethos for butting in to your thread.
What to expect with your trainer/ bulk division.

The information, provided by Mr. Ethos is 100% correct. Tommorow we will have the last day of orientation. All OC staff is really professional. They are tough guys, but they definately know what they are doing. Very very professional team. Waiting to meet my TE in Keasbey! Roll!

Well i know I helped unload bulk oil in dead of winter with no tank heater and it seemed like it took 2 days. I was in the Navy and was in charge of the fuel and oil on the ship.

How long is the training period for the tanker division? Is it the same as any other division with SNI? Thanks!

It would be great to hear about some of the most interesting Trainee experiences you've had, ethos, whether fearful experiences or exhilarating - maybe when a Trainee really grasped something you'd been trying to get them to see, and then while still on the truck with you, went on to really do something right! Maybe how many Trainees have you trained and in how many years? How many are still driving with SNBC? Do you keep in pretty good contact with former Trainees? Do they call you a lot asking questions once they're running on their own, or not?
As well, I'm guessing you don't make that much extra when you're training, as when you're just running Solo. Yes, you're paid some extra somehow, but that's probably offset by less miles run. I know you run really hard when you're by yourself, maximizing your CPM. I'd think with a Trainee on board, you wouldn't run so hard, because as you said in another post, you're not Teaming with the Trainee. Does this mean the Trainee is the one who is doing most or all of the driving? If that's so, I'd think things would slow down a bit.
Why do you Train? I think I know, but it would be great for us to hear from you!
Just some ideas...Last edited: Jun 10, 2013
