I knew things were going too good. Went to deliver this a.m. and the receiver jumps my butt because my DRY VAN didn't maintain a 70 degree temp for the load of mac&cheese. And...wouldn't let it go until I told him to refuse the load and we'd take it back(at the same price we brought it over for) they could reload it on a reefer and they could bring it back at 70 degrees for a higher price. He finally let it go because my patience was almost to an end. He acted like I booked the load, scheduled the load to be picked up, decided what trailer to load it on. Got empty, headed for my pickup. They're out of product, back and forth from office to truck to office...finally get one they have product for. I get assigned(by the shipper) and head back for the load...only to have Crete pull me off of it...plus in the middle of the whole deal, the q/comm goes nutz. And my A/M wonders why I get p/o'd
*update*
As I was leaving the one load to pick up this load instead, the yard jockey was coming to have me back in and get loaded early...do you think they'd let me at least pick it up and move it to Marietta....nope. instead I'm sitting here at the fiberglass plant's drop yard waiting on my replacement load...that isn't ready. On the bright side, the load is 18,000 lbs instead of 44,000. But, it's going to you-know-where. Chicago-land. I had a week w/o going up there, it only took me taking a vacation week...but hey, a week is a week.

SSB, you'll have a better week then I will. Looks like my truck won't be done until around midday Thursday, which means I likely won't submit any miles for this week. But I'm working a bunch between now and the end of October in order that I can take the 7 or 8 days off in September I need for our family get together. Finally got a renter for our other house, but he won't be in until August.

My week coming back from days off has been one of my worst ever. After sitting in Boise for 24 hrs, they gave me a 280 mile joke load to WA. My last 8 days in miles are: 250, 0, 0, 0, 0, 575, 45, 280. At least I'm spending the night in a quiet, pretty place:

Anyone else have a hard time finding an empty Shaffer trailer? I've driven atleast 2-300 miles in last week looking for an empty.

It looks like I am gonna squeeze in the delivery tomorrow. Assuming I can get the paperwork transflo'd in that will be 3230 miles this week. I have been bumping my 70 the last few days. I should have about an hour to 45 minutes after I deliver but I will be nowhere near a t/s. Maybe I can find a fax machine.
My bunk air isn't cooling for crap! I'm sitting in the panhandle of Oklahoma and it wasn't even kicking the compressor on. I have noticed that when I shut the engine off the bunk air seems to continue for quite some time afterwards. I have to wait for it to kick off so I can hit the no-idle air switch or the compressor will never start . But by then it's already blowing hot air.
