Well, when WW3 hits, they say there is a cave complex out west capable of supporting thousands for years. They were selling plots for around $7000(right next to that ocean front property in AZ, and primo farm land in the everglades)...but honestly, if it came to living in a cave for years with a couple thousand people or watching a nuclear sunset as the bombs blew....I think I'd put on some shades and SPF 10,000 and watch the end from "the front row"(to quote Bob Uecker). After all, I've done my time in trucking purgatory!!!

I got into my loaner truck today. Picked it up at Freightliner and of course it wouldn't start:biggrin_25511: The service writer came out with a battery on a cart thing and it fired up. I kept thinking it only has to last about 4 days. They let me bob up to the International house to collect some more of my things. I knew I would forget stuff but I kept thinking it's only for 4 days.Went over to Sears in Garland and snagged an mt and then the preplan came in to head down to Ennis. I got an extra stop on my way to Bloomington, MN. That will leave me with less than 300 miles to make my 119k. Ms Tea even sent me a note this afternoon letting me know to keep her in the loop in case dispatch doesn't come thru with the miles, According to her I only have to be dispatched on the load for the miles to count. So I hope to be back in about 4 or five days.

She is correct, the miles get added to your total when you are dispatched on the load.

One cool thing about this truck is the stickers on the side say 12 years with Crete and 2 million miles:biggrin_255:

I don't get my raise. A penny per mile but that's about 1200 dollars a year

The sad part is, I can remember when we use to get 130k+...now we feel fortunate if we get 120k. And we use to get bonus pay for every mile over 30,000 in a quarter.

    Ralph4159 and jdrentzjr Thank this.

Anyone else wait 5 days to get repairs done. Then find out they didn't repair anything but said they did.
