They should have given you a supply list. You need food or money for food for 6 weeks.
You need sturdy shoes that can stand summer heat on blacktop for 12 hours a day. My $70 Stanley boots got ruined and I had to buy better ones there.
You need paper, pen, change for laundry, clothing, ruler, highlighter, poncho, hat, sunscreen, flashligbts, and $$ forights to put on the cones when you switch to night training (about $20). The list says collared shirts, but t-shirts are okay if the collar is not frayed. Shorts are permitted on the range where it's really hot.
Push your recruiter for more info - sounds like he/she hasn't sent you everything.
Re Greyhound - ugh. Don't expect a lot of sleep as you'll have to disembark every two hours. Bring your own food cuz it's pricy at the stations and the lines are long.
If wife is not supportive of your venture, you need to straighten that out before going to school. School is hard enough without daily flak from home.
I graduated Millington around this time last year and still work for Swift. Ask any questio.s you like. -
I went to the school in Millington tn. I liked the trainers. They made sure you understood whst was going on. But like somebody else said they teach you what you need to know to pass cdl test. They are good company to start with but I wouldn't make a career with them. I stayed with swift my one year to take care of financial obligations to them. I was on a dedicated account from the start and made 35, 000 my first year. Left and went to another company and make 60, 000 that next year.
