Water under the bridge...
d o g Thanks this. -
Today was one of the few days the 30 minute break didn't mess me up...I took it at the shipper...but I still can't quite get the hang of this new setup.
I'm tired all the time, can't seem to get fully rested....these new rules completely messed up my way of doing things...I stopped 62 miles short of where I had planned on stopping today...the reason...its because even though todays break didn't mess me up, I'm running behind due to the breaks on Monday and Tuesday! I didn't stop early because I was out of drive time...I stopped because I just didn't feel like driving that last 62 miles....it messed up my schedule (my body's schedule...the one that governs when I work and when I rest)
I never had this problem before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going back home next Thursday...and glad of it!Last edited: Jul 31, 2013

FACT: The new rules/regulations of 7/01/13 are just another example of government intrusion into our daily lives resulting in more loss of freedom and liberty. They have taken a system which has worked very well and have made it more complicated for no sound reason. When bureacrats on power trips control things they make idiotic decisions. They do stupid things that boggle the minds of the people who work and are the backbone and strength of this country. And this is my nice way of posting my thoughts.

In the past month I have noticed that there are more and more trucks parked on the sides of the roads (not on exit ramps) whether it be for their 10 or the 30. I'm betting we'll see more.

I am one that will park at whatever ramp I find to take this stupid 30 min break.
JimTheHut Thanks this. -
Not a maverick driver. But I'm kind of use to it now. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I do still hate the reset rule. But hey super truckers need a change of pace every now and then. A super trucker will survive. A super trucker will survive
Rigbuilder, scottied67 and JimTheHut Thank this. -
I'm seeing that too. Many many times passed up by a clean shiny fast truck only to see it parked on the side of the freeway 45 minutes down the road with the hood up and triangles out. You just know that guy isn't broke down, he's doing his little 30 minute break.

Bruce and Tim are both in Laurinburg. Tim is a FM for glass.

I meant to update this last week. Mike Threatt called me and he told me that Stan had finally retired and that Tim took his place. It'd be good to see them. I need to give ole David a call and shoot the bull about his mustangs and the drag racing that he does in general.
I appreciate you telling me though!!
