I tried. I got the call back and my file was given to the HR Manager; however, I have yet to hear anything. Tried calling and got no call back either. So I had to choose another carrier at this point.

Well, I finally got out of Grand Prairie...As of Friday morning Jerry (in orientation) said call him 11ish to check on the truck. Right at 11 I was digging for my bluetooth, and my hotel room phone rang...it was Jerry, he said my truck would be ready shortly after lunch and was wondering why I wasn't calling Outbound. Turns out, for some reason, my phone not only didn't receive a call from Outbound, but didn't receive one from Jerry...and they both left voice mail messages...and I didn't get a notification of that either. They had me a load going to Jacksonville for Tuesday morning that would be ready by 1400 Friday. I guess the load they were hoping to send me on to Tampa couldn't be loaded early because they were shipping a lot of freight, and were actually short on drivers. So, I packed my bags (and accidentally left my coffee cup and a 12 pack of diet-pepsi behind) and got the shuttle to the yard. A little after 1300, the shop called, and my truck was ready. I went and got it, signed off on the repairs and watched Tommy in the shop key it in and release it.

I headed to the shipping office just at 1400, and they were running behind on my load. So I finished inspecting the truck, headed to the shop to get the missing equipment replaced then went and fueled up... then back to shipping. I got the load, and the trailer had a bad turn signal, back to the shop I go.... Now I was feeling hopeful that I was finally on my way...until I get to the outbound gate. I was 3rd in line to leave(everybody including several outside carriers were leaving at the same time)...then security wouldn't let me out. They said my truck hadn't been released in the computer after all....back to the shop. By this time the shops 1st shift was gone, and the 2nd shift supervisor was on the yard picking up the next truck...so I patiently waited. He got there and discussed my truck, and I told him that I had given the release to the shop office and watched him release me...so he just did some typing, and I was outa' there. I returned to the gate, and did all the necessary stuff (and got an apology from the security guard for having to go back to the shop..."no problem, you're just doing you're job")... besides, the delay helped me miss the Friday afternoon rush hour traffic(in the rain).

I almost feel guilty...all the years I've been putzing around at 62 mph for Crete, I forget I can run faster. I still catch myself following trucks that are doing 60...I got use to not jumping out and passing when it use to take my 5 miles to get around...now I have to watch myself...I can speed!!

I left Grand Prairie at 1830 Friday and pulled in my driveway in N. FLA at 2230 Saturday. Something I would have had trouble doing in a Crete truck....

I will submit my application to the "I love my job" club as soon as I get back to Grand Prairie :biggrin_25525:...even with the all the issues...I am still glad I made the switch!!

(ok, I hope that last statement didn't cause too many injuries :biggrin_25521:)

Very happy for you, you made the escape from Lincoln and lived to tell the tale.

What is the procedure for getting a loaner truck once I get back to GP? My truck will be due for a PM when I get back(it was too far out to do before I left) but I really don't want to sit there waiting on it...rollin rollin rollin....keep them dawgies rollin

I was surprised that they do only B services...no A's, and at 15,000 miles?

The one with my phone number is what I was referring too.

Contact compliance for available loaners. Then turn in your VIR directly to the shop to notify them it is available to work on. If you turn it in late in the afternoon & can wait a day they will most likely have the PM done by the next afternoon. Exception is if any issues are found during PM. Then all bets are off as to when the truck will be ready.
